Privacy policy
Short version: no cookies, no tracking, and your details are only used to reply to you and quote.
Last updated: 14 October 2026
The short version
- This website uses no cookies, no analytics and no tracking of any kind.
- The quote form only opens WhatsApp or your email app. Nothing is sent unless you press send.
- I use your details only to reply to you and quote. I don’t sell them, share them or add you to a mailing list.
- You can ask me to delete your details at any time.
Who I am
This website belongs to John Knot trading as Front Door Sites. Under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), I’m responsible for the personal information described on this page. I’m also the Information Officer.
You can reach me about anything on this page:
- WhatsApp: +27 73 242 6068
- Email: hello@frontdoorsites.co.za
Cookies and tracking
This website doesn’t set cookies and doesn’t use analytics, advertising pixels or any other tracking. It doesn’t load fonts, scripts or images from other companies: everything comes from this site.
The quote form
The form doesn’t store or send anything by itself. When you press the button, it opens WhatsApp (or your email app) on your own device with a message already filled in. Nothing reaches me unless you press send.
The message contains what you typed:
- what you need, your business name, type of business and town;
- your description of what you need;
- the link, rough budget and timing, if you added them;
- your name and how you’d like me to reply, with your email address or number if you added one.
WhatsApp also shows me your phone number, and email shows me your email address.
Your message goes only to my WhatsApp or email. I use it only to reply to you, to quote, and to build your free mock-up or plan from your business’s public information.
Hosting and server logs
This website is hosted by Cloudflare (Cloudflare Pages). Like every web host, Cloudflare’s servers automatically record basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the page you asked for and the time. Cloudflare uses this to deliver the website and protect it from attacks. I don’t use it to identify you.
Cloudflare may process this information outside South Africa. It is covered by Cloudflare’s privacy policy and its data protection commitments.
WhatsApp and email
When you message me, your message is also handled by WhatsApp (owned by Meta) or by the email providers involved, under their own privacy policies.
If you become a client
To build and run your website or tool, I keep your business details, your contact details, the content you send me (like your logo, photos, prices and hours) and records of your payments.
If I build you a business tool, the data in it (like your clients, bookings or orders) belongs to you. I only access it to build, support or fix the tool, and I never use it for anything else. In POPIA terms, you are the responsible party for that data and I process it on your behalf.
I keep client records for as long as you’re a client, and afterwards only for as long as the law requires (for example, five years for tax records).
How long I keep enquiries
If you ask for a quote but don’t become a client, I delete your messages and any mock-up or plan within 12 months, or sooner if you ask.
Your rights
Under POPIA you can ask me:
- what personal information I hold about you;
- to correct it;
- to delete it;
- to stop using it.
To ask, send me a message on WhatsApp or by email. I’ll confirm once it’s done. If the law says I must keep something (like an invoice), I’ll tell you what and why.
Complaints
If you’re unhappy with how I’ve handled your information, please tell me first so I can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa. See how to lodge a complaint on their website, or email POPIAComplaints@inforegulator.org.za.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, I’ll update this page and the date at the top.
